Flight Attendant first time Whole 30 start 3 Jan 18

Hello everyone,

I am brand new to Whole 30 and am going to start my first one after the new year.  I am a Flight Attendant and as such, traveling internationally in and out of 4-7+ time zones sometimes a week.  I want to do Whole 30 as a body reset and know my work schedule and limited "healthy" options on the road is a challenge.  Since my body clock is often out of a normal rhythm, I snack often.  I know I'll need to now switch to healthy snacks and bring my food on the road with me for this month, any recommendations out there for easy and filling snacks and tips for travel?  Depending on the country, getting certain foods through customs (especially the US) is difficult or just unauthorized.  I'm out of Germany, so most of my food is purchased here in Europe.  I greatly appreciate the snack, constant traveler while Whole 30 and newbie advice!

Danke Schon!

Hey there.  Welcome!  I've ammalgamated all three of your posts into one topic, as per forum rules, please don't cross post the same content into multiple threads as it makes the forum hard to manage.  We encourage you to particpate in as many threads as you like but please write out a unique response in each one.

@A_banana, My first thought was that you could set your watch to your home time zone. It's what I've always done when I traveled. As for meals, think in terms of meal 1, meal 2 and meal 3 rather than breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tinned foods should be okay thru customs. Hope someone else has suggestions for you. Welcome aboard.

I like @LydiaJo's suggestion of setting your watch to your home time. You could also set timers for every 4 hours to remind yourself to eat, since the goal is for meals to get you 4-5 hours at a time. Normally for most people, that's three meals a day, but if you have longer days or are just hungry one day, it is fine to eat more than three meals. Do really try to eat actual meals, as opposed to a handful of this and a little of that here and there throughout the day.

As for what to take, I know different countries are going to have different requirements, but here are a few links that might be helpful:

You can also google things like Whole30 flight attendant or Whole30 travel or Whole30 while flying to find more.
