TaneyR
I checked out the back of the bag, and it just says 'coconut,' but wanted to make sure.
kb0426
It depends on how you plan to use it. If you are going to bake something, then no, as paleofied treats are not allowed as part of the whole30. If you would like to use it for breading, then yes. MJam
Like kb said, it's all about context...cookies, cakes, muffins, pancakes...no go. 1/2 a cup as a binding ingredient in a meatloaf is fine.
TaneyR
That answers my question. Thank you both!
mrsbryant89
So I've read the above posts about paleofying treat but what if it was 1tbsp in a recipe for Zucchini Fritters?
praxisproject
I think it's fine as a binder or for breading, but not to make things like pancakes or muffins.
ar1zona1
What about using it to make our own wraps similar to Pure Wraps?
praxisproject
The Pure Wraps are allowed I think, but you might need to post your recipe to be sure on the home made ones.
melbournegirl
Hey guys, you might like to read the "dont overthink this" post in this topic.... anything with compliant ingredients is allowed, whether you should have it depends on why you are having it... if it supports healthy eating habits then yes , if it supports your demons, dragons, emotional crutches, bad habits, restricted eating, causes cravings or health problems then you shouldnt have it. The best message I took from that post is that comfort foods are still allowed as part of balanced eating... this is not a diet or a punishment schedule, it is a way of creating a pattern of healthy eating and healing. Robin Strathdee
Good summary Juzbo! I'll add for clarification: If the rules say it's out (pancakes, muffins, etc.) it's out no matter the ingredients. But, let's not get hung up on the over analysis of can/can't or should/shouldn't outside of said rules.
