I enjoy getting a healthy green smoothie for breakfast. I have been using sugar free almond milk but am getting ready to start the whole 30. I don't want to give up a great quick way to get my green veggies in the morning, but what can I use as a non dairy liquid that is whole 30 approved?

Thank you,

Heather

As Melissa Hartwig says, "This is a very popular question with a very unpopular answer."  We don't recommend smoothies during your whole30. Drinking your food doesn't give you the satiety that chewing whole food does. Furthermore, smoothies are usually fruit-heavy to make them palatable.

We suggest cooking up a frittata (easy to do the night before) with lots of greens in it, or simply topping cooked or raw greens with some eggs. A salad is also a surprisingly good way to start your morning. Or, any leftovers from the night before that include a protein, veggie and fat will work. Nothing fancy required.

You can do this!
