the_wendy_house
Not sure whether I'll use them or not, but is any particular nut butter better than the others, please? TIA -Wendy
MJam
I always have a jar of Nuts to You brand organic sunflower butter in the fridge. Only one ingredient...sunflower seeds! I have yet to eat it/need it during my Whole30 but it's there and my toddlers love it.
Lyn2
It's hard to find, but I adore macadamia nut butter!
Lyn2
Oh, and if you're talking about brands, Artisana is good.
Susan W
It's hard to find, but I adore macadamia nut butter! I totally bow down to you. There is no way I could ever have mac butter in my house. Mac dragon is not a sufficient explanation.
Lyn2
I'm totally that way with coconut manna. Can NOT have it anywhere around! Nom nom nom!
kb0426
Check your ingredients! Not all butters are created equal! I use the same brand as mjam, but they also make one that has more than just sunflower seeds. Always read labels!
MJam
My HFS carries all kinds of funky nut and seed butters (even pumpkin seed butter!), the Artisana brand stuff AND coconut manna. I usually spend about 10 minutes just staring at the jars every time I go so I DON'T go home with ALL THE BUTTERS! I know SunButter brand had evaporated cane juice and other randoms in it and Nuts to You makes a fruit and nut combo one. You can also make your own if you have a food processor...my girls are fond of homemade cashew butter. Making your own you can control how much you make and what goes in it. the_wendy_house
I think I'm going to try the sunflower first, thank you! Didn't realise there were quite so many...!

Susan W
Two words..... Don't start...... You'll see why.... Lol I had to vote nuts and their butters off the island. I can't be trusted.
praxisproject
Sunbutter is high in Omega 6 http://www.marksdailyapple.com/quick-guide-edible-seeds/#axzz2Go8Pta15 as are some nuts http://www.marksdailyapple.com/nuts-omega-6-fats/#axzz2Go86XE4S Almonds, Cashews and Macadamias are low in Omega 6. melbournegirl
Bought some celery sticks today.... really wanted to spread nut butter on it but it is banned from my house during my whole* so LOL I put a few whole almonds in the groove and ate it with a smile on my face
Lisa@SwissPaleo
I generally make my own nut butter because it is very expensive to buy it here in Switzerland (and the only one you can buy here that is sugar/junk free is almond). However, nuts are total "food without brakes" for me. One of the reasons I started my whole 30 this time around was because I ate an entire jar of cashew butter. By myself. In 2 days. Beware.... melbournegirl
Definitely food with no brakes. I thought about turning those almonds into a butter for my celery but I didnt want to start a trend.... just yet. I can happily stop at a spoon of coconut butter - I guess because it is richer, not as sweet and not crunchy????
Lisa@SwissPaleo
I'm actually doing this Whole 30 100% nut free. Nuts and coffee cream are my weaknesses
Elata
You guys, a jar of nut butter in two days? Pfff, I ate a jar in one sitting. I swear, I have no idea how that happened and that's a clear sign I shouldn't have it. I am doing whole30 nuts and coconut free (except for coconut oil but that one in moderation too). Also today I've received a newsletter from a healthy products shop informing me about the discount for macadamia nut butter (woohooo!). And then I checked the ingredients list: sugar, palm oil, macadamian nuts (25%), milk powder, sunflower oil, soy lecithin... Good god, only 25% of nuts... that butter should be called "Sugar butter" instead of nut one

praxisproject
I like the Melrose nut butters we get here in Australia. Hazelnut is my favourite, then macadamia, then almond. I eat almond mostly though, cos the other ones are too yummy I like cashew too, but it's a lot higher in carbs.
SarrizleP
I don't understand why nut butters have so much other stuff in them?! They taste pretty good just as plain nut butter. Raw almond butter is delicious, why throw a bunch of other crap in it? If people want that kind of thing they can buy nutella, but if you want nut butter you should be able to easily find just nut butter. Crazy companies..... Carolyn Koron Parise
Made my own almond butter using just almonds. Takes quite a long time to "turn" into butter but it is pretty tasty.
