quitequaint
I'm interested in cooking this fennel leek potato soup recipe and am wondering if there's anything I can use for a heavy cream substitute. I know the heavy cream is optional, but I'm seeking that velvety texture. Sorry if this question has been asked a billion times. The search button for the forum is covered by the social media links/logos, and I can't seem to use it. Is there a search link a mod can send me to use? Babsie95
I would use coconut cream in something like this and I have in other soups with success. That being said I like coconut and am not sensitive to the flavor.

Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted January 8, 2018 Moderators Share Posted January 8, 2018 Yep, coconut cream. If you can't find it you can use the thick stuff in a regular (not light!) coconut milk can. DON'T shake it, put it in the fridge for a few hours, pour the thin watery part off, and voila! coconut cream.
