WJStar
That’s awesome Julia! I’m also starting on the 5th there are a few others on here as well. I finally got done purchasing all my items today! Had to go to a few different locations but honestly I was just so amazed by some of these ingredients in things, especially sugar! My trips to the groceries took me longer then usual since I went to a few new places and also taking time to read everything I picked up. I’m excited to start this next chapter in my life! KA11
I'm a 2/5 starter also! I went to Trader Joe's after work and picked up some of the things I don't think I'll be able to find at the regular grocery store. Tomorrow I'm going to Kroger for the meat, fruits and vegetables and then I'll be all set for the week as well. I had to look all over the store for ghee. It's over the frozen section where they keep the candy and cookies - weird. And I know I can make my own. Maybe I'll get the courage to try it when this jar is gone. I found coconut aminos too. I have a good recipe that calls for soy sauce and this is supposed to be a good substitute. Excited to start on the fifth!
WJStar
I found ghee at Traders Joe but I didn’t buy it there bcuz I just wasn’t 100% it was W30 complaint but after reading a few post on here I think it is. I also went to Whole Foods and they have a lot of the W30 approved products including ghee and the coconut aminos but I do feel everything is a bit pricy there. I placed an order through Thrive market which has many products that are W30 compliant and honestly with all the different places I went too their prices where the best and way less then anything I found at Whole foods & TJ. I went to Kroger’s today to pick up some avocados and ginger and I was surprised they had a pretty good selection as well and definitely next time I will be getting my veggies and some meat there. I was mad because Kroger’s is so close to me and I didn’t think of going there first. But hey now I know. Will be cooking tomorrow before the game so I can have my food for Monday and Tuesday ready to go! Very excited!
BigT
Hi all! I am starting another Whole 30 tomorrow-did one before and it was great. But, I need to work on my sleep again and am looking forward to the clarity of mind I got last time, a benefit of whole 30 that isn't discussed that much but which is life changing. But today's my birthday (always right around the Super Bowl!) so Im off to indulge in oysters, a bloody Mary and something not so whole 30 and look forward to tomorrow when I begin again! Let's keep in touch.
Ckjos
Hello! I am also starting on February 5th. I have never done this before, so I am very nervous. But a few of my friends did it and said it was hard, but worth it. I live in Berlin, Germany and have noticed that a lot of ingredients in the recipes are not always easy to find (like mustard power, ghee, spaghetti squash...etc.) So I'll be doing a lot of food prep this evening and may be getting creative with a few recipes. I hope you all have a great start to the week!
