Meat-Heavy W30

OK, here goes my third crack at Whole30. I've successfully done this twice in the past, and let myself go more than I'd like since the last time... so I'm going to crank out another tight W30 here to get myself back on track. I'm sure I'm a little more meat-heavy and carb-light in my food choices than most, but it helps me keep with it, and I'll stick with what works. :)

Day 1

Lunch (12pm)

  • medium bowl of leftover chili (ground beef, onion, tomatoes, chili powder)
  • 1/4lb hamburger patty

 

So that's it for now. I was going to wait until tomorrow to start this, so I'd have a full day to post, but that increases my odds of not bothering... and I definitely benefit from posting this stuff daily, so I'm putting this up here while I'm ready.

Supper should be a big plate of chicken wings and a few veggies. Hoping to hit the gym after supper to do some rowing and a little light weight work. Baby steps.

OK, day 1 in the books. I'll start posting at the end of the day so all food is in one post. Here was yesterday:

Lunch (12pm)

  • medium bowl of leftover chili (ground beef, onion, tomatoes, chili powder)
  • 1/4lb hamburger patty

Supper (6pm)

  • 8 chicken wings, baked, w/ salt, pepper, garlic
  • 5 oven fries (like Evander Holyfield) hand cut, fresh potato, minimal coconut oil coating
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

Snack (9pm)

  • 2 leftover chicken wings, eaten while standing at the counter, to burn some of the calories

 

Jonesed hard for a drink last night, punched myself in the leg as hard as I could a few times to smarten myself up. Went to bed sad.

Today I started off with a black coffee, not sure what lunch will be, looks like I might be working through it today. Chalk it up to a failed hunt, forced fast, no worries. Following that up with donating blood tomorrow, so I can add "injured during wild boar hunt" to my list of pretend things I did to make myself channel my inner caveman. Oh yeah.

Oh, and started this out weighing 196 lbs at 5'10". Hoping to drop into low 180's during this. Scale has been hidden under the bed for 30 days.

I need to go shopping and buy some yams and veggies to go with the meat. Probably should have done that before starting this. Heh.

Day 2

Lunch (12pm)

  • 250 grams of ground beef, some taco seasoning, salsa
  • 4 leftover chicken wings

Supper (6pm)

  • 8 large beef & pork meatballs, w/ egg & crushed pork rinds as binder, baked in tomato sauce
  • 1/2 a small spaghetti squash
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
