Help, Day 4... falling over tired

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm on day four of my first whole 30 round. I haven't had any negative symptoms so far, until now. I am horribly tired. I knew this phase was coming but I need some ideas on how to handle it. I have a six month old and I need to be able to function. I sleep through the night (about 7.5 hours) and I take a nap every time my daughter does. I wake up tired every time though! What can I do? I don't drink coffee so I need a solution besides that. When might this exhaustion begin to taper off? Thank you for any input!!

Are you breastfeeding?  If so, are you eating at least four meals a day?  If not, are you eating three meals a day?  Matched to the template? Drinking water? Salting your food? We really need some more information to try to help you :)

I'm not breastfeeding. As far as meals, I'm eating three a day. This is what I ate yesterday to give you a idea of what my meals look like.

B: Scramble- 2 eggs, spinach, sundried tomatoes and a whole 30 compliant sausage link and a tiny bit of avocado

L: buffalo broccoli and chicken with cauliflower rice

D: baked potato with sloppy Joe filling with a few baby carrots dipped in avocado mash

I follow the recipes in the book or on the site to a T and I do think I'm salting my food enough. I also drink about 10 cups of water a day and I take a 20 minute walk every evening. Hopefully this info helps

Okay so your breakfast has no veggies and very little fat.  It's hard to tell your portions for lunch - is it 1-2 palms of protein?  2-3 cups of veggies and added fat?

Same with your dinner.  Make these match the template.  Also, how much is ten cups of water in relation to the recommendation to drink 1/2oz per pound of body weight?

I have sundried tomatoes, spinach and avocado in my breakfast. I have a palm sized amount of protein in each lunch and dinner and about 2 cups of veggies. I cook with either ghee or avocado oil. I've always drank about 10 glasses of water a day and it is two cups under what I should be drinking according to the equation. I'll try adding in more fats to my meals and hopefully that helps

Spinach cooks down to nothing, so unless you were starting with heaps and heaps of spinach (like at least one whole one of those grocery store bags of baby spinach), then it wasn't enough.

Whatever you cook with doesn't really count toward your fat for a meal, unless you've scraped every single bit of it into your meal and even then, you'll probably need to add more.

Bump up the veggies and fats in your meals and see how that goes.
