Ciarsgirl
So we were on a weekend trip away and while I remained true to my food freedom for the most part, I went off the rails yesterday. In the am I had a slice of banana bread with maple butter, afternoon had chips that were a corn/sweet potato mix (no other non compliant ingredients other than corn), but last evening had 6! Hershey kisses. Woke this am fine, but didn’t eat breakfast as early as I normally do and 2 hours later couldn’t swallow water without being in agony (no exaggeration) from acid reflux. It’s hard for me to believe that it would come so much later and from so little chocolate (albeit low quality chocolate). Anyone else had or heard of an experience like this? TJHigh
It might not be from the chocolate - it could be from the gluten in the bread or the corn. For what it's worth, I reintroduced corn yesterday and have been having mild heartburn ever since. I'm not sure that's what caused it yet (I have two more reintro days with corn to go), but I think it's possible. Maybe you're experiencing the same thing? Gwenn
Chocolate is one of THE worst triggers for GERD and acid reflux. Kills me every time.
