amendjohnson
Oh my goodness. Maybe it’s Valentines Day or hormones but after several days without cravings, I want to eat everything I cannot have. These are not 3-5 minute cravings, but persistent & frankly a little overwhelming to the point I’m losing sight of why I’m doing this (to slay the sugar dragon & model better eating for my kids). Honestly, I feel like quitting. (Isn’t life sweeter with a little sugar or Splenda?) Going to bed now & hoping to wake up to fewer or weaker cravings & some good advice! Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 15, 2018 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2018 If you're hungry -- if you'd eat something fairly bland or boring, like plain steamed fish and broccoli, eat. It's definitely possible to be hungrier some days than others, and females especially can be more hungry at different times in their cycle. If you're truly not hungry, but distractions aren't helping, you may need to figure out why you want these foods. Maybe you're stressed, or angry, or sad, or bored, and have used food in the past to help stop those feelings. If it's something like that, you'll really just have to let yourself feel whatever you're feeling, even if it's unpleasant. You may find it helpful to journal about those feelings, or talk to a friend about it.
