Becky Henderson
I'm starting tomorrow also. I began first Whole 30 January 22, on day 21, I fell and broke my collar bone. I live in Alabama where we firmly believe that anything that happens to you can be cured with a casserole and pound cake. For the first week my friends and family took care of my needs, housecleaning, errand running and of course food. Some of these kind people are aware I am on a food journey to improve my relationship with food, they tried their best to bring me compliant meals. The others not so much. There was no way I was telling them I could not eat what was prepared. Today my very best friend came. She sliced, chopped and diced veggies for me. With my help she prepared some food in the Instant Pot. I am ready to begin again. I will say those 21 days were phenomenal. I was sleeping better and had gained so much energy. I'm an old lady, sleeping better and having more energy is a big deal. During those 21 days I also lost weight, which is always a plus. I'm looking forward to the next 30 days. I wish you the best on your journey.
Jamieschull
Hello! I started today 02/18/18. I am a wife, mom of 5 children still at home and a nursing student. I am super excited about feeling better in just a month and that is what motivated me to get started now. I love the day by day book that was put out to help us along with our first whole30. I am here looking for mutual support. My family will not be participating entirely in this whole30 so I need to talk to like minded people. Glad to see so many in the forum. Becky Henderson
Jamie, cook great food, serve it on up to the family. Maybe the only thing they notice is yummy good stuff. You have a lot going on in your life. Whole 30 should be fairly easy compared to husband, 5 kids and school. You will be successful.
Jamieschull
Thank you Becky. I have been through primal/paleo with my family before. They eat fairly well and I cook for them every day. I found in the past however that if I restrict my kids and husband to my eating plans they tend to accept every opportunity to eat treats offered somewhere else as much as possible. I will of course prepare food for then that is whole30 as I prepare it for myself but I will not tell them they can't have a cupcake at a friends birthday party anymore. That is what I meant by they won't be participating the same way I am. Thank you for the encouragement! I pray we will all be successful for our health's sake.
