Compliant Party Food

Our office does a monthly "food day" to celebrate all the birthdays that month.  People bring bagels, breakfast pizzas, chips, dips, cookies, etc.  I was thinking it would be a good idea to bring a whole30 compliant dish to share, so that if I was tempted to go pursue the selection, there would be something I could have.  I would say I would just avoid the lunch room that day, but that is where the fridges, microwaves, water and ice machines, etc are. And so I am thinking bringing something I know will be good and that I will like will be a better plan.  So does anyone have any good party items. Something that will feed a crowd, but not break the bank?

I tend to avoid those things like the plague, personally, but if you are less of an anti-social hermit than I am, the chocolate chili by Mel Joulwan (Well Fed) is a crowd pleaser. You can make it ahead and then throw in a crockpot to warm it up when you get there. Also a fruit tray would be nice. I would 100% still bring your own full template Whole30 lunch and then have whatever you bring as a little adder (the fruit or chili or veggies etc ). This means you will 100% be fully and properly fed which helps reduce poor decision making/spur of the moment intense cravings and sets you up to successfully manage the entire day.

I LOVE Paleo Running Momma! She has a blog with an entire section of recipes dedicated to Whole30! Her recipes are some of my absolute favorite Whole30 recipes!

Thanks Ladies.  Maybe I can do one of those dips and bring some veggies for dipping.  I do plan to bring my full lunch, I just know I will want to go in and socialize with the birthday peeps and feel it will be easier if there is something I can eat, if I choose.

I will invite you to every party I ever have (spoiler, it's none) if you promise to bring devilled eggs!  I love them so much and they're such a pain in the rear to screw around with - which means I would NEVER make them for work people or anyone i didn't truly love but i would truly love you if you brought some with you this summer

So easy.  I don't cook or bake but devilled eggs are one thing I have learned to make.  I usually boil my eggs the day before and let them sit in cool water overnight.  I find they are easier to peel that way.  Then you just dump everything in a bowl and mash it together.

I don't know that whole30 compliant bacon is expensive!  Thanks for the suggestions, I will check them out!

Many people just have trouble finding it -- if you're in an area where it's available, it's probably not a lot more expensive than other bacon, but if you have to order it online or drive 45 minutes each way to a Whole Foods to get it, as some people do, you might not want to share with non-Whole30 people.

We found some at Fresh Thyme that was listed as Paleo bacon... it was like 6.99 for like 12 slices or something.  Considering we normally gets ours from Costco (theirs was not whole30 compliant), 12 slices isn't going to go far :-(  We decided we would save it for our Sunday breakfasts.
