Day Two

Day two for me..I am so excited and delighted to have this format and forum, and the newsletters. I am amazed that you guys have done this..I have realised through trial and error and much research (I am a biochemist studying nutritional medicine) that this is the perfect diet for me. I feel invincible when I eat like this..and can crank out essays in a 1/4 of the time, keep my house clean and ordered, be patient with my children, keep my emotions steady and feel happily positive, remember things clearly, walk up the mountain with like a youngster and sleep like a baby. The hardest thing has been not getting distracted and starting to drink a glass of champagne and have some honey on a rice cracker..then it all seems to snow ball and crave things more,I introduce dairy, some dhal and other things then before I know it my energy is plummeting, my memory failing, my moods intolerant, I get sore throats, viral infections, my sleep suffers and then my motivation fails and I find myself in a downward spiral. Soooo I am greatful to this support and amazed that I am not the only one that needs to eat this way. I now have more confidence to suggest to my clients as well, somehow I have worried that suggesting to a life long vegetarian that they eat like this is hard, lest I cause them more problems..after all..my body must be just "weird"!! So now all I have to do is suggest that they check out all your amazing resources and try it out for themselves! Thank you..what an empowering way to start the New Year.

Hello:-) I have been very tired, but I think coming straight out of a period where from the 23rd Dec till the 1st Jan I had champagne nearly every day (and not just one glass!)..I'm not surprised that I feel dreadful. Day 2 felt ok..went for a big walk, but today is a different matter, didn't get to sleep until 3am and now really feel like I have a hangover..eyes are gritty and bloodshot and have no energy. I have fasted many times before and it's similar. I am glad for the newsletter..it really helps to help me refocus on what's around the corner:-) Have you done anything like this before??

Hmm..I have a kind of hollow feeling even right after eating..I know that it can't actually be hunger..I am just ignoring it for the time being..but what to do if you are starving at bedtime!! Perhpas you could have another small meal around an hour before bedtime to ward off the pangs enough to go to sleep??

I've done Sandra Cabot's liver-cleansing diet, but that was 15 years ago! It was very different - for half of it you went vegetarian.

I'm not sleeping too well either, very restless. So I've been feeling pretty lethargic since the second day. Hoping tomorrow (day 6) I'll wake with some energy! :) I made chocolate chip biscuits for my hubby yesterday and resisted their beautiful aroma easily, but today I could've devoured all the ones he hasn't eaten yet..........it took all my willpower >:-|

I've found making sure I have enough fat at dinner stops the hunger pangs before bed.
