CrazyCow
The lightbulb went off about an hour after I posted a hello in the wrong place....GAH! I think NYE sugar laced celebrations are taking their toll today. Sorry about that. Anyway. I've been paleo (in various states of strictness) for almost exactly two years, but these past two months of holidays have definitely highlighted the falling off the wagon, off the reservation, off the planet kind of eating that has me feeling icky. I'm not so far gone that I can't remember what feeling good feels like, but it makes me a little sad that I've let it get to the point of blahs. I mean REAL blahs. Anyhow, best I felt was the first marathon and a half walk I did--eating paleo--it was awesome. No injury (not even hot spots, let alone blisters!), great recovery, buoyant mood, ready to do it again. And so I did, twice more--each time, seeming to fall a bit more off the wagon, until last year's 40 was just. so. hard. And I got injured. And took months to recover. You'd think the bells would ring, and I know they were, but I still ignored them and my diet continued to devolve...sigh. So! I'm here, ready to take a 30 day time out, to get back in the game. Went back and forth over should I start today? Should I start a week from now? Well, we all know the answer to that. And so, Day One is down. Not quite as prepared as I could have been, but I started all the same. Resolved, worried, but really glad to be here, and looking forward to more accountability than just myself… Happy 2013 to all! kitchenwizz
Good on you! Sure you'll be able to get organised and into it. I started my first W30 yesterday - let's hope it's not too long before we're both starting to reap the benefits! Keep us posted.....
kitchenwizz
How are you feeling? Over the 'hangover' stage, or feeling as yuck as I am?
CrazyCow
How are you feeling? Over the 'hangover' stage, or feeling as yuck as I am? Oh, so sorry you're not feeling the best. I'm not feeling yuck or at hangover stage, or at kill all the things (too funny), but goodness me, I am tired today. And craving meat. Lots and lots of meat. A bit odd. With the ND-Alabama Football National Championship (US) kicking off in just an hour, I have let myself eat a bit more through the afternoon (I wanted MEAT! I settled for stew and a few strips of parma), because let's face it, there won't be much for me at the pub where we'll be watching it. I'll let you know how I get on. GO IRISH! Hopefully we'll both be feeling brilliant soon...!
kitchenwizz
Hahaha, I suppose this is the perfect 'diet' to be on if you're craving meat! How did you get on at the pub? I slept much better last night, so have more energy today. Still waiting to be jumping out of my skin, though! My sister, who's done the W30 three times, says it's only when she's off it (like now) that she realises how much energy she had when she's on it. At those times she can be up at 6am, run a family day care centre with 5 toddlers all day, and be up till 9pm cooking for the next day.....no worries. Can't wait to feel like that! CrazyCow
Okee dokee, I've been post whole 30 for the past two weeks or so (though I have not yet worked through the full range of non-compliant foods)...and by request of daughter one, I'm jumping back into a W30 #2 as of the 13th. She was so impressed by the changes in me, and some of those that I had made mention of to her, that she wants to give it a go. I said I would join her to provide support in her journey. I'm not going to lie: I'm skeptical that she will do it. Not because she can't do it, because she absolutely can. I'm hoping she jumps into the forums for help and support too--because it gets tiring hearing mum hammer on all day. Watch this space. As for me...I'll get a few links up here shortly to my logs, etc. I have to laugh--I never did start a post W30 log. I think deep down I knew number two was imminent...!
