Starting May 7th 2018!!

I've been doing so much research over the last few years to find a healtier alternative to our family eating lifestyle...which currently includes so much take-out, restaurants and processed foods LOADED with sugars!  I finally feel like I'm ready to put my all and dedicate myself to a full 30+ days to resetting my eating habits and my health to the best it could be!  This week I will be creating my meal plans, recipes and grocery lists and I'll be all set to successfully start on May 7th!!

I expect to run into hurdles along the way, as my husband and kids may not be able to be so dedicated to the program (my boys are only 7 and 9 yrs old...and although I KNOW they would benefit from the Whole30 program, I will concentrate on learning new habits and recipes first and doing my own Whole30; as a result, they will slowly begin to fall into the lifestyle too...I AM the provider of meals after all!)

I look forward to starting!  I have a few Whole30 books, I'm now signed up on this forum, I have a start date in mind...LET'S GET THIS STARTED!!

Yes! Agemme, me too! I am starting May 2nd. I have a hubby and two kids similar ages as well. I just bought the Fast & Easy cookbook and the Day by Day tonight at my local bookstore. I just finished the Whole30 book last week. The snacking/take out will prob be my toughest challenge. We can do it though! I think it is wise to be intentional and take the time you need to get the ingredients/ensure kitchen ready before you begin.  Let's do it!!!!!!!

Best,

Laura

Hi all! I'm also starting May 7! I needed a little time to prepare - clean out my pantry, prep, grocery shop and all that. I've already been experimenting with some meals since my parents have done whole 30 before, so I have some favorites in mind, but any and all support or recipes that you all love would be a huge help! Good luck everyone!

Hello, hello! I'm also starting a whole30 on the 7th. My motivations have been uncontrolled snacking (since I stopped breastfeeding my baby, I haven't seemed to cut the habit) and to gain control of my sugar/food dragon.  I caught myself for the hundredth time reaching over and finishing my husband's ravioli last night. *face palm*  I have one of the cookbooks and am looking for super eeeasssy meals because my 11 month old doesnt stay out of trouble for longer than 5 minutes...it sounds like some of you know what I'm talking about, x2!

Do y'all want to do a check in at the end of every day?

Also starting tomorrow, May 7th! Yay! Slightly terrified as I attempted to do this once before...got horribly ill on day 2 (not sure if I just got sick in general or if my body was just going through withdrawal? Heh.) anywho, i ended up stopping when I became sick. I’ve already prepped better this time around and crossing my fingers that I can actually complete it! What’s everyone eating tomorrow?

How did everyone do? I DEFINITELY usually over-snack in the afternoon, and several times felt myself wanting to even though I wasnt hungry. I was feeling tired and low energy for most of the afternoon until dinner, and then after dinner all I wanted was ice cream & chips. This one is going to be hard!!!!

I am starting today, May 8th. I'm a divorced, newly retired empty nester so in some ways it's easier, on the other hand there's no one to help hold me accountable. I have a couple of friends who have done it. My big temptation in bread, I love delicious bread!

I had a HORRIBLE time trying to eat meal 1 yesterday...I just wasn't hungry and usually don't eat anything for breakfast (unless you count coffee:P) So that was a struggle- especially with trying to eat a veggie with my scrambled eggs- totally gagged. I also had to force myself to eat meal 2, too. Finally ate my protein salad around 2:30pm . Took me 3 hours to cook meal 3, I made the butternut squash soup with no fuss salmon cakes. Luckily I had enough leftovers to last me another 3 nights! This morning was a little better, went for a hard boiled egg with spinach, raspberries, almonds and a tablespoon of tessemae's balsamic vinaigrette to make it go down better. Totally worked, enjoyed meal 1 today. Still struggling to find an appetite for meal 2...and it's going on 2pm already! PS. did anyone else eat the protein salad? Um...it tastes so good that it feels illegal...haha!

I begin on Monday too! Hope we can all be encouraging of each other! :) Look forward to hearing everyone’s progress.

Let’s Do this!!!

2nd day!! How’s everyone!!??

Day 1 was easier than expected. Today - this afternoon I was DRAGGING! SOOOO TIRED. I realized I didn’t eat enough lunch so I was tired and nauseous. I ate an apple with almond butter and a mandarin orange. Seemed to help pick me up. I didn’t plan lunch well enough and a lack of enough protein may have contributed to my symptoms.

Hope eveyone is staying on track!

Have you tried it yet? I’m following the “traditional” recipe- onions, celery, grapes, and almonds. Plus primal kitchen mayo, grilled chicken, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Served over spinach with a small spoonful of tessemaes ranch. I’ve no joke eaten it for lunch every day this week...and I think I’m going to continue eating it for lunch til I’m sick of it- which at this point may be never, ha!

I started one day after you guys but so far so good. I went and bought a lot of herb plants and have them potted up so was able to use some fresh basil in my salad dressing. Day 3 yesterday I felt a bit shakey during my yoga class, and went to bed early but I feel very positive at the moment.

Hi folks! Day 10!!! 1/3 of the way through! How's everyone doing? Is everyone still hanging in there? I had my first food nightmare 2 nights ago...dreamed that I accidentally ate a sandwich that someone made for me, halfway through I was like, "Wait! I'm on the whole30, I can't eat this! OH NO!!!" and was so devastated that I started crying in my dream because I didn't want to have to start over! HA! Was a relief when I woke up and realized i DIDN't actually eat a sandwich  But seriously...of all the foods to dream about...i dreamt of a sandwich?! Guess I like bread more than I thought...hehe.

Hi!!! Anyone else still doing this? Day 18 almost in the bag! Just curious to see how everyone else is doing. Keep hearing people in my office say there's a "glow" about me :) I'll take it! Mood has improved, feeling confident, lots of energy...although I'm lacking workout motivation lately (which is weird since i'm a runner), clothes are literally slipping off my hips. It's addicting feeling this great!

Any of my fellow May 7th start date peeps still in this to win this? Can't believe Day 27 is coming to a close and there's only 3 days left before reintroduction starts! :o Hope everyone is doing well and feeling great! I'm slightly terrified of gaining weight once this ends and I'm no longer super strict with ingredients  But I also know eating whole30 for the rest of my life isn't exactly realistic...guess I can only do the best I can!

Hey Hey Hey y'alls! Can't believe it's already Day 35...feels like it was just yesterday that I was waking up on Day 1 and panicking about doing this. But now...eating this way just comes so naturally! After not weighing myself for 30 days, I decided I would weigh myself on Day 31 after the reset was over and again on Day 46 when the reintroduction is over. Drumroll...as of the morning of Day 31, I had lost 15 POUNDS! WHA?! Unbelievable, but whats even more important than that number changing- is how healthy and great I feel. The main reason I decided to do the Whole30 was to find a way to get rid of the horrible upper abdominal pain I have been experiencing for the past few years. I've gone to several gastroenterologists that would just throw some antibiotics at me and tell me it was a bacterial infection that will most likely always come back every year. I asked if there was anything I could do to make it NEVER come back, change my diet, or ANYTHING? And they said, "No, it will probably just always come back at some point" <_< Well, guess what? For the past 35 days, I've had zero stomach pain (except day 31 on my gluten-free alcohol reintroduction )! Guess some specialists just don't know what might or might not help you. Anywho, I've already done 2 reintroduction days (31: gluten-free alcohol and 34: legumes- wow...peanut butter makes my throat close up, never noticed this before! And I definitely prefer almond butter over PB now ) 10.5 days left of reintro...and I plan on doing Day 37: Gluten-Free Grains, 40: Dairy (praying I don't have a bad reaction because I love me some cheese...), 43: Grains with Gluten. Anyone else have any personal updates? Would love to hear how everyone else is doing. Hope everyone is feeling great and staying strong!

Hey team! Yesterday was Day 45! Last day of Whole30 + 15 days of reintroduction! I'm feeling so great and now reading Food Freedom Forever so I can continue eating well and maintain feeling great. I'm about to eat my first meal that is NOT Whole30 compliant for dinner tonight (I still ate Whole30 for breakfast and lunch today). I'm a little nervous but I feel like I have the tools now to not go overboard. I weighed myself this morning after being completely done and I lost a total of 19 lbs, 4 inches from my chest, 5 inches from my waist, and 4 inches from my hips. ALL IN 45 DAYS! Can't believe how well my body responded to this, I really didn't think I would end up with these amazing results in such a short amount of time! Very happy to be stomach pain free for the past 45 days and looking forward to the new relationship I have with food. Hope everyone did well, feels amazing, and is happy with where they are now :)
