Butt3rflyJB
Hello internet, Well, here I am. I've been planning this for a few weeks now. My first Whole30. My first diet ever, really. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Hi, my name is Brittany. I currently reside with my in-laws in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area and work as a manager in a fast food restaurant in an attempt to pay off my school loans as fast as possible. I am in my mid-twenties with a BA in Music and hopes to finding a path into either classical church music or opera. I'm still deciding between the two. I am married to a wonderfully supportive husband. He is the one who got me started looking at Whole30 to begin with. My energy levels are not where they should be for a completely healthy twenty-something and his mother had done similar elimination diets in the past to pinpoint trigger foods. After some encouragement from him, I finally decided to start looking at these options for myself and I found Whole30. It removes only what I needed a diet to, focuses on overall health, and gives me the support and structure of an organized diet. With this Whole30, my goal is to unlock my body's potential. I am primarily hoping to improve my mood and energy, while attacking acne and slashing a some stubborn fat on the side. My pre-Whole30 preparations have included requesting the first week of my Whole30 off from work, purchasing a quarterly subscription to the Real Plans meal planning service, and ordering the Whole30 Day-by-Day guide. I was able to get most of this week off, with only a couple short shifts to provide relief during our busiest times. I am incredibly thankful for how understanding and supportive my employer has been. I signed up for the Real Plans service a couple of weeks before my Whole30 to give me time to understand how it works and get used to the cooking style. So far it has been easy to use and the meals are fun to make, even for a novice like me! Beings I am just starting, I have not gotten very far into the Day by Day guide book yet, but I look forward to discovering the tips and motivation written into it! Well, I think that gets you all caught up to where I am now. See you later, Brittany
Butt3rflyJB
Hello intetnet, Day 1 felt like a mess. I woke up tired and the day really didn't get much better. Breakfast was eggs and carrots around noon so I missed lunch. I did have a snack of dried fruit, but fruit only goes so far. I was hoping to have Portobello Pizzas for supper, but my father-in-law was using the oven to keep his carry-out pizza warm. I ended up asking my husband to help me improvise and make homemade mayo. It is more complicated than it is worth, but we got it done and I got to enjoy some tuna for supper. I'm not quite satisfied, but I don't have the energy or motivation to make anything else, so I'm off to bed in hopes that tomorrow works out better. Day 1 is done. Over and out, Brittany
Butt3rflyJB
Hello internet, Day two is done. Had eggs again for brunch with carrots and grapes on the side. Dinner was the Portobello Pizzas that I was supposed to have yesterday. They were a bit small and didn't quite turn out as well as I would have liked, but that's how you learn. On the bright side, my overall energy was better today. Motivation was still a bit low, but I expect that it should pick up tomorrow now that I've given myself a full day off. I am hoping that the cooking and meal planning gets easier as this goes. Only 28 days left. I can do this. ~Brittany
