Hey everyone!

My name is Danni, and I'm a barista / women's ministry coordinator / sister / daughter / fiancee / friend... and I'm starting my first Whole30 journey.

Like you all, I embark on this quest in the interest of health. I am currently 182 lbs at 5'7 inches, struggle with so many allergies, have an unrelenting patch of flaky skin on my elbow, and I have a history of high triglycerides. I actually went to the hospital last year with triglyceride-induced pancreatitis, and it was terrible. I was traumatized by the excruciating pain, and I determined never to go back to the hospital for diet-related reasons again.

So I already started 2018 with a fairly good start: I made a New Year's resolution to stick to a pescatarian diet. It's done wonders for my digestive system, and I am slowly getting more and more convinced that I might stick with seafood for the rest of my life. However, the only restriction I gave myself was sticking to seafood, while everything else is fair game: fries, pastries, soda... ya know, anything that doesn't have beef, pork, or chicken in it.

My fiance (Jimmy) has actually been suggesting this diet for me for a while now, mostly because it already seems to fit my palate: nutrient-filled whole foods with fresh flavors. So here I go... with not much preparation but Pinterest in tow! I'm so glad that Whole30 has been around for almost 10 years now, because with all these people with a wealth of knowledge and experience, I'm pretty sure I'll be okay. This is really the biggest difference between this and all the other diets I've tried, ya know? And I think it'll be awesome.

So, it's nice to meet you everyone... and help! O_O

For my food today, I'm taking it easy because I just got back from a weekend of heavy eating with my family.
Pre-Noon: a handful of blueberries, several cups of earl grey tea, and I'm about to snag a bag of Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds.
