trailrunner87
Hi All, I'm hoping someone can answer my question. I'm starting a fresh whole 30 this week, yesterday actually, and it feels nothing like my first Paleo challenge. I remember all the symptoms going on that week that are discussed on this site, the constant need to nap, feeling crappy and moody, etc. That was the only time I felt that way going into a challenge though I've been on another challenge since, and through a Whole 30 once before. Should I expect to feel all of that again? I've been straying from Paleo the last few months, and I would say I have been a shameful 80% paleo 100% of the time. I know I shouldn't wish for bad times, but I'm actually worried I may be doing something wrong this time, since I've got no symptoms of all of that. Thanks! -Jess
Renee Lee
Nope! Probably not doing anything wrong! The closer you are to squeaky clean Whole30 eating, the easier the transition is going to be. If you're 80% Paleo, 100% of the time (i've used this to describe myself sometimes too, btw!), you have a much smaller hump to get over than folks coming in from a SAD. AmyS
There's also the fact that you might recognize that you are starting to really feel better, hour by hour. That happened to me recently as I began my third Whole30 (going for a Whole100 actually). So what I formerly identified as detox or other symptoms now felt like relief, because I knew that shortly afterward I'd be feeling equilibrium again. trailrunner87
Awesome... your answers both make so much sense. Thanks Ladies! Guck on doing this for 100 straight days Amy! and thanks for reminding me I'm not entirely abnormal in this Renee! :-)
Larissa
Also, in my first week with no bad symptoms other than sleepiness and light headaches. None of the moodiness or nausea, I wonder if I'm doing it wrong as well. and I was a little piggy over the past couple of months, not even 1% Paleo!
