JDL
Hola - I have had severe menstrual cramps since I first got my period 16 years ago; it lasts all day & the pain is so intense I can't walk, dry heave for hours, & ultimately faint from exhaustion. My doctor put me on birth control to help temper it & it has been a helpful solution for the past 14 years. I'm trying to ween off birth control but every time I go off it my cramps are just as severe as day one. I've had multiple tests done by my doctor & have been told that it's just the reality of my body & won't change until I have children. That being said, I'm doing the Whole30 with zero cheats to see if an anti-inflammatory diet has any effect on my period. I have two weeks until my first cycle without BC & to be honest I am extremely nervous. I'm meeting with my doctor again next week, but was curious if anyone else has a similar condition & if the Whole30 helped you at all. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
CeeeVeee
Any update? My daughter has the same problem - cramps, vomiting, fainting. She's been on the pill for almost a year and it's stopped the vomiting and fainting but she still has cramps. We just started Whole 30 and I'm curious if this will help her. Link to comment
JDL
Hi there - sorry for the delay I was waiting for my next cycle. It had a tremendously positive effect, minimal to zero cramps, no nausea, no fainting. This is the first time Ive had a cycle like this off birth control. I have been taking magnesium supplements and working out in conjunction to whole30, but super encouraged that this helped. Hope it does the same for your daughter. Link to comment
