Round 3 of Whole30

Hello everyone!

Today is Day 1 of my third Whole30! Round 1 was in the summer of 2016, round 2 was May of 2017. I was able to stay Paleo until September of last year and lost 35 pounds. However, I started dating my boyfriend in late September and completely fell off the good food wagon. The relationship is wonderful but we eat lavishly. Now I'm in an internship in a different city and I really need to reset. I've gained 15 pounds since then and I feel like it's mostly bloating from dairy and bread.

I tried a Whole30 this past January but only made it about 11 days. Now I'm in it to win it. I'll be posting on here to keep me motivated and honest. I hope you're all doing well!

Starting stats: Bust 39in, Waist 33.75in, Hips 43in, Left Bicep 12.5in, Left Thigh 22.5in; Weight 175 lbs. Height 5'7"

Day 3 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 7th)

Reactions: Headache from the moment I woke up (first side effect), fatigue, and nausea. I'm having some digestive troubles but that makes sense because it's the first time I've really integrated vegetables in my diet for the past two months. My usual breakfast made me feel nauseous and I couldn't finish all of it. I'm bloating a lot as well, unfortunately. I feel fragile like a baby bird but I'm holding out for that Tiger Blood!

Breakfast: Two hard-boiled eggs, two strips of compliant bacon, Salsa, banana, coffee

Lunch: Chicken, brussels sprouts, watermelon

Dinner: Lettuce Wrapped burger with tomatoes, grilled onions, and pickles

Snacks: Nuts, Apricot

Exercise: 20 min of strength based yoga

Day 4 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 8th)

Reactions: Bad sleep last night but I think that was caused by outside factors. Barely hungry all day except for at breakfast. Very emotional today but I think that may be because of my cycle. Not easily irritated or mean, thankfully.

Breakfast: Three scrambled eggs, two links of compliant sausage, banana, cashew butter, coffee

Lunch: Cherries, dates

Dinner: Soup (chicken, tomatoes, okra, onion, garlic)

Day 5 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 9th)

Reactions: Tired, tired, tired. I had an allergic reaction to a prescribed medication and have a rash on my face and fatigue. Pretty miserable day for a lot of reasons but I'm sticking with it. I find myself craving comfort foods like soup and pot roast. Hopefully will feel better soon.

Breakfast: Three boiled eggs, two strips of bacon, salsa, banana, cashew butter, coffee

Snack: Handful of Pistachios, a couple of dates

Lunch: Homemade Soup leftovers (chicken, tomatoes, okra, onion, garlic); cherries

Snack: Two sausages with compliant ketchup

Dinner: Chicken kabob, peach

Exercise: 25 min of strength yoga

Day 6 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 10th)

Reactions: By the end of work, I was dead tired. I have been sore all night and having difficulty relaxing. Dehydrated, too. Need to focus on more water and bigger meals. I'm not hungry as much but then I have no energy. Maybe if I add another element to each meal, I'll feel better.

Breakfast: Two scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon, salsa

Snack: Banana, cashew butter, coffee

Lunch: Cherries (should've had more)

Dinner: Chicken, sausage, avocado

Day 7 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 11th)

Reactions: Pretty tired still. I think a lot of my restlessness comes from temporarily living in D.C., which is definitely not my favorite place. I'll be back in Colorado in less than 30 days and will then be a lot happier. I decided to do Whole30 while I'm here so my sadness didn't cause me to eat poorly and gain a lot of weight. I feel way less bloated already but I'm just hoping my energy becomes more even and soon.

Breakfast: Three over-easy eggs, home fries, sausage, cholula, half an avocado

Snack: Banana, Coffee, Cashew Butter

Lunch: Grilled chicken, potatoes, veggies

Snack: Cherries

Dinner: Baked veggies (brussels sprouts, asparagus, potatoes), sausage, egg, cholula

Day 8 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 12th)

Reactions: Today was okay. Energy is more even, hunger is still a bit random. I find myself low on energy and unable to exercise, so tomorrow I'll make sure to eat much more.

Breakfast: A cooked sausage link

Lunch: Medium rare burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles; potatoes, iced tea

Snack: Coffee

Dinner: Pot Roast and roasted veggies

Snack: Cherries

Hey! You seem like you are doing great! My biggest problem is if I don’t food prep my whole week is filled with random protein and way fewer veggies. I need plans in my life. Not only does it take a while to cook everything but honestly eating all the veggies I need seems to take longer too. You are just about to get over the 11 day slump! After that I find everything becomes more routine, you just have to tell your lizard brain no you do NOT need a bagel, clearly you are fine. Or maybe that’s just my brain, because it definitely throws tantrums...anyway keep up the awesome work!

Breakfast: Two over-easy eggs, home fries, bacon, cholula, half an avocado, whole30 ketchup

Lunch: Grilled chicken, potatoes, salad with tomatoes and paleo dressing

Snack: Cherries

Dinner: Homemade soup (tomatoes, chicken, okra, onion, garlic, potato)

Snacks: Two dates

Day 11 Meals, Exercise, and Reactions (July 15th)

Reactions: Feeling strong again today. I have no cravings for any food outside of compliant ones and I find my hunger to be very even and predictable. My exercise has gone down because I've been under the weather this past week but I'm hoping to bring it up again. This is the first time in my adult life that my mind has really been off food. I'm sorry to say that it's probably because of my tumultuous personal stuff but hopefully, I can take a good lesson from it.

Breakfast: Potatoes, two fried eggs, cashew butter, banana, coffee

Snack: Cherries, pistachios

Lunch: Lobster salad; potatoes

Dinner: Homemade soup (tomatoes, chicken, okra, onion, garlic, potato)

Snack: Watermelon
