Guitar_grrrl
Hi, All, I've been dealing with MS for over 20 years, and I'm happy to say, I'm still on my feet, or bike wheels, or Yoga mat, or inflatable kayak. I went Paleo back in March after my sister and I noticed my fatigue levels skyrocket after sharing a cookie. My first week with Paleo was tough, and my fatigue was off the charts, but slowly, my energy returned, and I must say, the whole month of April, I felt better than I had in 2 years! Woo hoo! May, however, hasn't been quite so energetic, though I've had some great days. The fact that I lost 10 lbs was just icing on the cake! I'd been bouncing around Mark Sisson's site, and learned quite a lot. He's pretty relaxed, suggesting an 80/20 approach, including dairy here and there, some dark chocolate or red wine for a special occasion... I took it a step further, eliminating dairy (I never have gotten along with dairy, especially fresh - not cultured), and doing it more like 90%. A couple of sticking points - a noncompliant husband, and a love of food/wine pairing. The hubster really isn't a big problem. He eats what I cook, though he has rice or quinoa alongside it. But I really enjoy food/wine pairing, and have enjoyed a glass of wine (no more than that) with my dinner. I think I'm ready to take the plunge, though. I've enjoyed easy Paleo, so far, and now I'd like to challenge myself to do the Whole 30. Namaste
