So I'm a 44 year old mom who is sick and tired of all of us being sick and tired! I have a 53 year old husband and a picky 13 year old. We are ALL packing extra weight and have been cranky, irritable slugggggs for the past few weeks/month. I'm done. Want to start this Sunday (have big social commitments through Sat) and I want to know if signing up for the Whole 30 Daily will guide us through the process or is it just daily motivation. Can anyone give us any feedback? I hear a lot about the need to prepare... where is the shopping list? Menus? Recipes? .... HELP!!!!

I HAVE to do this right for all of our sakes...

Also, any tips on picky teenagers??

The daily emails are great, they motivate but also provide lots of links to other articles recipies etc. I would really recommend reading the book, it explains everything really clearly and also the science behind it. I always like to know why I'm doing things :)

In the meantime if you go to the 'Our Book' section of the website, there's loads of info there to download for free including shopping guides, quick start guides, pantry stocking guides etc.. They're really helpful, also don't be afraid to ask any questions you have. good luck and keep us posted how you're all doing.

You can read; It Starts With Food -or- you can go to the 9 Blog (at the top of this page) and read the most recent posting

The January Whole30®: Progress, Not Perfection

it contains links within the blog for just about everything you might need.

Congrats to you and your family. I just started yesterday and I know what you mean about being sick and tired of being sick and tired. I found reading the book to be really helpful. If anything... learning the whys makes it easier to endure the hard moments. If I didn't take the time to read the book and plan out ahead of time... I may have already screwed it up due to frustration.

Maybe give yourself the time you need to read and learn the process. If you start two days later than planned (but totally in the know and confident about why you are doing it) you might have better success? For me, I wanted to start January 1, but changed to January 2 (not as fun) just because I wasn't prepared with the right foods. I also got the daily messages that I think at least so far, might only be helpful if you knew the plan to start. It's not a how-to, but more of a motivational message with some tips.

Best of luck to you and your family!
