mrsmaggie
Hi Just wondering if anyone else on the Forum lives in Scotland? Started my Whole30 on 1st January, but bought ISWF back in September and have been eating Paleo on and off for a number of months. However, I do notice how much better I feel if I get strict, so am doing a reset now. Also my chocolate addiction got a bit out of hand over Christmas! Seems like nobody around here has heard of the Whole30 so I just wondered.....
Kirsteen
Hi, yes I'm in Glasgow and there are a few other Scots around I've just started my 2nd W30. I know what you mean about not many people having heard of it here but I have found some good sources for food. The farmer's markets are good. There's a few organic shops and I even found a restaurant selling grass fed meat which I thought was wonderful til I saw the prices so I won't be visiting it any time soon Good luck and keep us posted how you're doing
mrsmaggie
Hi Kirsteen This forum feels like home now, you're just half an hour down the road! How are you getting on with your W30? I did not really feel that much different until last night, when I got a burst of energy, and felt very motivated to do a lot of veg prep etc to make it easier to eat well during the day. My days are a blur of nappy changing, baby carrying, breastfeeding, negotiating with/nagging a pre schooler, tidying up, and then all of a sudden its bedtime again. I am up once or twice every night feeding my baby and have been for the past 7 months, I don't usually get a chance to nap during the day, therefore I would now describe myself as a bit tired instead of exhausted which I usually am. But its all good. This extra or more consistent energy has continued throughout today so I'm assuming this is as a result of what I am eating and I have a lot more mental clarity. I am going to rename the fogginess 'grain brain' instead of 'mummy brain' hehehe. I feel very determined and single minded and have only struggled with cravings for 'something nice' on one occasion, I will wait and see what the next 3 weeks has in store..... How was your first Whole30? What did you learn? How did you first find out about it?

Oregon is not bad either.
DVeep
I am going to rename the fogginess 'grain brain' instead of 'mummy brain' hehehe. Can I quote you? "Grain brain" is BRILLIANT!
mrsmaggie
Yes DVeep go right ahead hehe. Have you been to Scotland before then? Funny thing thats happening now, I am sleeping deeper since a couple of nights ago and now I don't hear my baby right away when she wakes up for a milk feed. So....hubby has been getting up to pick her up and come back into our room with her to say "Hey! wake up! Did you not hear her?" Me: "oh...no...I was dreaming about eating (insert Whole30 banned substance here) !! oh my goodness I didn't did I?" Hahahaha Well I made macaroni cheese for hubby and 2 kids one night last week, also homemade chicken goujons with breadcrumbs another night and managed ok without drooling or anything. Macaroni cheese is one thing that would make me sooo bloated and bleugh so I was remembering that and how good I feel now. Ah well its way past my bedtime. Ps. I loooooove beetroot!! random discovery!
