nikibuds
Just venting here for a minute. I am on Day 25 of my first round. I'm still bloated and constipated AND I'm still snacking. I think when I feel discouraged about something, like this diet right now, I'm leaning towards the nut and dried fruit snack packs I put together more and more. Should I just throw them all out? I've already decided I'm extending my Whole30 to 33 days -- and maybe even longer. What do you guys think? Where is my Tiger Blood? Meals are kind of hard for me since I work super early in the morning but here's relatively what I eat... M1 - 330AM -- 2 hard boiled eggs w/ mayo (egg salad) 1 homemade sausage patty w/ spinach and roasted veggies M2 - 10AM -- leftovers from dinner before (roasted spaghetti squash with ground beef + tomato sauce w/ roasted broccoli) M3 - 2PM -- either dried fruit and nut snack or a small amount of grilled chicken over greens w/ mayo or homemade ranch (pre-workout) M4 - baked plantains (post workout) M5 - (rare, only if I'm still hungry) - salmon cake w/ roasted veggies roasted veggies are usually green beans, brussells, butternut squash, mushrooms and carrots. I was also taking psyllium husks twice a day. I think that might have messed me up a lot... I didn't realize you weren't supposed to be doing stuff like that until wayyyy too late. yesterday actually. Anyway, halp!
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted August 2, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 2, 2018 So it looks like you have a decent breakfast and lunch and then you just snack for the rest of the day? That is going to make a big difference between becoming energized and fat adapted and not... if you're up as many hours as it sounds you are, you should be eating a template meal every 4-5 hours - some people have longer schedules and need to adjust the '3 meals a day' recommendation. The dried fruit and nuts are likely partially behind the bloating... depending on the amount of brussels sprouts and broccoli and other crucifers you're eating, that could contribute as well and I'd stay away from any sparkling water that you might also be drinking as that can contribute to bloat. Some people also find hard boiled eggs the hardest on their stomach of all the ways to cook eggs.
nikibuds
Now that you put it that way, it does seem that way!!! And what's funny is that was my usual way of eating basically all the time. Just constant snacking. So it's easy to see how I've fallen back into that habit. I will try to work in more meals. You're right. I'm usually awake from 3am to 9pm every day. I'll try eating fuller meals.
