GrammaNoodles
I'm finding the closer I get to my start day August 25th, the more nervous I am to start. Is this usual? I dont want to fail and have been doing a lot of "home work" figuring out food that I think will help me in the month long journey. I am finding a lot of get ideas and menus which is super great, through Instagram and books. But my concern as I read the whole30 book, is all the side affects many people go through and it scares me. But I need to do this for me... for the healthy me! pags98
I wouldn't be nervous. You won't fail especially if you've been planning in advance. I decided on a Friday and started on a Monday and succeeded with hardly any planning. So if you've been planning you've got this!
kirbz
I think it's normal to be nervous! It's human nature to fear change and this is a big one! But don't be too nervous! This is exciting and can be fun and will likely open up a whole new world of food for you! And you'll experience some amazing benefits! I wouldn't fear the side effects too much. They don't happen for everyone (they didn't for me, except maybe a low grade headache on this most recent round) and they typically only last a few days! You can do this! Let us know if you have any questions!!
Chef Leika
Hi GrammaNoodles, I know exactly how you feel. That was me at the beginning of August. My main concern was breakfast, I love eating a breakfast sandwich with Ice coffee from starbucks almost every morning before work, I am happy to say that its been 20 days and I don't even crave them anymore. Before I started mine I did like you and study all the books and search for all the recipes and planned out all I needed in order to success and followed it and Im still going strong. I feel you will be nervous until you do it and then you'll see how great and powerful you'll feel that you did it. I am no expert being this my first time but If there's anything I can help you with please don't hesitate to ask. Im pretty sure we can help each other out. Also I am a chef so I can share with you a few of my recipe and cooking tips if you need any. I wish you the best and see you on the web!!! You Got this!!! CoriAislinn
Nervous is totally normal. If you weren’t nervous for your first whole30 I’d wonder if you had actually followed the program!! Personally, I didn’t really get any side affects. Keep us posted on how you are doing!
surfbird
I'm nervous too! I eat a mostly vegetarian diet and it is scary to me to think about eating so much meat...and giving up my precious beer and dessert. But, trying to look at it as a vacation from vegetarianism and a chance to have some of the meaty things I miss (hello meatballs! no breadcrumbs, obv), try new recipes, and save a lot of money by staying away from the breweries! @Chef Leika I would love to have any breakfast recipes you're willing to share! I love eggs and don't want to destroy that relationship by getting bored to tears by them.
