Nauseated For/From Breakfast

My little family all caught the flu over Christmas. I was nauseated for a couple of days at the end, around Thursday/Friday/Saturday last week. I started my Whole30 on the 1st. I used to drink coffee every morning, but I needed it, so it's out. I have not had coffee, well, since a day or two before the first because of my stomach upset. The last two mornings I made scrambled eggs and a side with greens (the first was a stir-fry of sausage, onion, garlic, swiss chard, yesterday was just onion/spinach) and it's turned my stomach. Eventually, around lunch time, I am able to eat without feeling nauseated. I'm not sure what is going on here. Should I be drinking some broth in the mornings, maybe? I tried lemon water, that didn't settle too well.

Good morning! I experienced the same thing when I first started my whole30 last September. I was a regular breakfast eater pre-whole30. I started to dread breakfast, and could get only a few mouthfuls in before getting full and rather nauseous. I LOVE your bone broth idea, and that is exactly what I did! I had some bone broth as soon as I got up. I am not sure if it was the timing of adding this in my whole30 or the broth itself, but it made a big difference. I remember waking up one morning - I think around day 10 - so excited for breakfast. I knew something had changed!

I was never breakfast eater before W30. I had to force myself to eat it the first two weeks. Now I wake up starving and nothing better stand in the way of my food. It could be the eggs are bothering you. Have you tried eating something different to see if you have the same results? I think bone broth is Lways a good idea.

My OH is having the same problem - we're really struggling to find him something for breakfast and, while he's making sure he eats, he's definitely not getting enough of anything from this meal as he turns green about 5mins in. The rest of the day is no problem at all.

We've tried different things (not bone broth - we both hate that stuff!) and the best so far is a random pumpkin and coconut milk bake thing. Eggs have been the worst for him too though, which is interesting...

Try something a little easier on your tummy. I like sweet potatoes in the morning with a little almond butter or a sliced banana with almond butter and cinnamon. Do a little experiment and try new foods until you find a breakfast option that gives you energy for the day and does not turn your stomach upside down !
