Day One and the dreams have already started...

Yesterday was my prep day and today was my official Day one. I've done one successful Whole30 in the past as well as a few Whole7s, but for some reason I must be really stressed about this one - last night I had two different dreams about how I was going to sabotage my Whole30!

In the first I dreamt that I woke and ate grilled cheese sandwiches because I had forgotten that today was Day one (as if I wake up and eat grilled cheese in real life anyway...?)

The second dream was that I went to a relative's house and all she was serving was spaghetti.

Maybe it's just because I was reading ISWF right before bed, but geez.

That's funny ...maybe it's just your mind's way of preparing you... ! Anxiety is a funny thing. I was pretty stressed about it too and I have even been prepping for a long time(having been following the Pimal eating philisophy for a few years..Getting through the first week might be the toughest for some.. good luck.. and hopefully no more crazy sabotage dreams!

This happened to me too! I've been waking up in panics the past two nights, having dreamt that I ate a bagel and drank a beer, respectively. I think it's normal to worry about making mistakes and faltering in an endeavor that is this much of a commitment!

I haven't had any food dreams, but I have been having some vivid dreams. I'm on day 5 and last night I had a dream in which I was travelling with two suitcases, one full of shirts, and the other full of pants. Well, my pants suitcase got stolen and I had to do my whole trip with no pants! I guess it is some sort of anxiety dream.

I too had a food-related dream (about jam on buttered toast -- which I haven't eaten for months -- and chicken sausage) the night before I started my Whole30. I now chalk it up to my subconscious mind saying "I know we're about to embark on something new, and that it has to do with food. Are you sure about this?" Even in the dream, I remember thinking "Oh no, I just messed up my Whole30," so I'm choosing to interpret this as a good sign: if my subconscious knows what the Whole30 is and can put it into words, I must have internalized it pretty thoroughly! :)

The craziest part is that for a few seconds after you wake up, you have a very real sense of horror at what you've done! Thankfully I'm out of this phase, now that I'm a week in - maybe my subconscious has calmed down and realized this ain't no thang after all.
