Stuntmother
I think I really just need reassurance that I'm not doing the wrong thing. My teenager has anxiety, POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia), a significant weight issue (like 70 lbs overweight), and a poor relationship with food (that is, food is emotional regulation for him). After much discussion and strategizing, we started a Whole30 together late last week (my third or fourth, can't remember; his first). My thinking was that we might get over the worst of the hardest days before he had to head back to school today, but today, his POTS is so bad he can't stand up, and so he's in bed asleep, and I feel like I'm poisoning my kid, even though I know I'm not. I just don't know how to help him through the slump, and I want to believe the slump will be short, but I've read forum posts that suggest a POTS slump can go on for days and days, and I'm just panicking mildly. Please offer insight, experiences, advice, reassurance...anything! And thank you.
