SpartanDeb
I am having a lot of bloating and discomfort on day 7. Any suggestions to help alleviate this issue.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 28, 2018 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2018 Drink lots of water -- aim for 1/2 oz per pound of body weight. Don't eat too many nuts -- try to limit it to a serving every other day or so. This includes nut butters and things like Larabars that contain nuts. Carbonated water may contribute to bloating, so try not to have too much of it. Cooked vegetables are less likely to cause bloating than raw, and cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cabbage, kale, and cauliflower) are more likely to cause bloating than other vegetables whether they're raw or cooked, so for a few days, go for mostly cooked vegetables, and go easy on the cruciferous ones. Peppermint tea may help some, and there are yoga poses that may help too -- google yoga poses for gas, or yoga poses for constipation if that's an issue. If by chance you are adding meat to your diet after being vegetarian, you may find you need something like digestive enzymes for a little while until your body is used to dealing with meat again. If you feel like none of those things are the issue, list a day or two of typical meals, including approximate portion sizes, and we can see if anything stands out that might be causing this.
