Jessie2020
Help!! I feel like so many recipes have coconut milk and oil in them and I just really don't like it. I loved almond milk but know its not whole30 compliant. Is there a brand that is? I'm a picky eater as it is and I'm feeling deflated now! Only day 3. Sigh. Karen
I can't stand the taste of either, too! I use this kind of coconut oil: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/expeller-pressed_coconut_oil.htm - it has no coconut taste! I believe Spectrum brand has no flavor as well. Renee
Most recipes that use coconut oil use this ingredient because it's heat stable. If you don't want to use coconut oil, you can use any animal fat (I save bacon drippings and use this). For coconut milk, unfortunately, I don't have any suggestion. However, keep in mind that once it's incorporated into the recipe, it doesn't taste at all (both the oil and milk). I really don't love the taste of coconut oil by itself, but I often cook with it. I've also made tons of recipes using coconut milk, and I couldn't identify the coconut at all.
