theHRlady
Hi everyone, I really would like to make the dump ranch recipe, but I can't find compliant almond milk anywhere near me! I know some recipes call for coconut milk, although the 40 aprons site mentions they don't prefer the coconut milk. Does it change the flavor at all? Any thoughts for another sub? Thanks in advance! Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 7, 2019 Moderators Share Posted January 7, 2019 I"ve only ever used coconut milk... whether or not you can taste the coconut is going to depend on how often you use coconut products in your cooking/meal prep... I use it all the time so the flavor doesn't stand out to me... You could make your own compliant almond milk by soaking almonds in water, blending them and straining them - there are loads of instructions/recipes online if you want to do this. HealingWithin
I just use water and honestly can’t tell the difference.
KatD
Yeah, I don't like coconut milk in all the dairy-free things either. I can always taste the coconut flavor. I just thin my mayo with a bit of water and vinegar (for that ranch-y tang). Tastes delicious https://ideatthatfood.com/blog/2017/6/24/dairy-free-ranch-dressing
