doctor-prescribed red yeast rice caps to lower cholesterol?

It's fermented rice, but it's still rice.

As it's prescribed, we can't/won't tell you to get rid of it, but just know that if you come to the end of your 30 days with less than satisfactory results, this may be why. It shouldn't effect you, unless you've got autoimmune stuff going one, but it could.

I am not a doctor so this isn't medical advice but I'm an internet and health nerd and from what i know the active ingredient in red yeast rice caps is the same that is used in some statins which is why it's prescribed. If you are going to make your decisions I'd do some research on the pros and cons of that and statins and what cholesterol really means to begin with (daily lipid is a good resource http://blog.cholesterol-and-health.com/). Good luck on your whole30!

I dont have any major health issues (just annoying or frustrating ones) and I also am not giving medical advice, just sharing a hope because I have seen the effects on my sister and mum once they started down the track of taking medicines to fix problems and then more medicines to fix the side effects until they are now soooo messed up. I am doing the whole30 to sort out digestive, skin and mineral deficiency problems as an alternative to taking supplements. Also to prevent the heart disease, cancer and diabetes that runs in my family. So far it seems to be working Hallelulah!
