plantsower
I read in a post that potato starch is okay as a coating or thickener (even though it's not mentioned in any of the ok lists which include tapioca flour. How about rice flour or potato flakes that don't have any "baddies" in them?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted January 17, 2019 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2019 Rice flour is not, because rice in any form is not okay. Potato flakes with no non-compliant ingredients are okay.
plantsower
Thanks, Shannon. Good to know. I will nix using the rice flour.
SchrodingersCat
I saw potato flour the other day, I think I'm going to get some as a thickener, as I don't really love the texture of tapioca flour.
plantsower
Tapioca flour goes slimy on me. Potato flour works like corn starch for me and makes perfect sauce or gravy. I wonder if it would make a good rue using ghee?

I just hate the mouth-feel.
