chadd
So this is based around the herb ox granulated chicken bouillon. The ingredients are as follows and the ones I'm questioning are in bold. with Other Natural Flavors Ingredients: Salt, Maltodextrin, Flavor (Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Salt), Contains 2% or less of Chicken Fat, Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate, Dehydrated Parsley, Dehydrated Cooked Chicken (Contains Natural Flavor), Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking Agent), Onion Powder, Spice, Polysorbate 80, Turmeric Extractive, Garlic Powder, Propylene Glycol. So given the above bolded ingredients, am I looking a a compliant whole 30 chicken bouillon? Maltodextrin rings of sugar... Hyrdrolyzed corn protein rings of grain. Disodium insinuate and disodium guanylate are just hard to pronounce. Same for the silicon dioxide and the propylene glycol. Thank you!!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2019 No, this isn't compliant. Corn anything is enough to make it not compliant. Maltodextrin is a sweetener. I don't remember what the others are off the top of my head, but for any ingredient you're not sure of, googling Whole30 plus that ingredient usually gets you past discussions here in the forum. There are also some downloads about additives and other names for sweeteners here: https://whole30.com/pdf-downloads/
