Epic Performance Bar Almond Butter Chocolate

These are not listed in the Whole30 section of the Epic site, but I'm not sure which ingredient is non-compliant (the unsweetened chocolate?...I thought this was similar to the Rx Bars). Are these bars Whole30 compliant?

I believe the rx bars use cocoa, not chocolate (which is a processed product).

Yeah, I'd have said the chocolate. 100% pure cocoa is compliant, but chocolate isn't.

Also vanilla extract almost always either has alcohol or sweetener in it, so that could be why it's not compliant. 

In any event, any kind of bar with dates or other dried fruits is as close as you can get to a candy bar on whole30, and really should be for emergencies only, like stuck at the airport or in traffic where you have no other options.

I'm guessing the same goes for the Chocolate Cocoa bars? 

I actually bought these for my husband, who often misses meals/snacks while working, to stash in his bag, but I'll return them if they're a no-go.
