Meg R Fl
I'm just trying to get clarity in understanding why preservatives, like sulfites, are not allowed. I want a real clinical answer as to " Sulfites are known to cause...." not just the "well that's what the book says". I need better clarity Thanks
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted March 1, 2019 Moderators Share Posted March 1, 2019 The program excludes the preservatives that are most likely to cause inflamation in the body - sulphites and carrageenan are very inflammatory and in order to help heal the gut so that proper reintroductions can be made, the most commonly inflammatory preservatives have been excluded for the 30 days. The science behind that will be cited in the book It Starts with Food which is a great place to look for the science behind the program.
Dee D
I took the research one step further by accessing the NIH websites on inflammation caused by foods/additives. Some of the terminology was difficult to understand at first read, but it was worth it for me to do. I, too, need the science.
