Medicman627
OK, I understand that peanuts and more than likely the cooking media of peanut oil is out. If I wanted to fry a turkey, what oil would be recommended? Is it not realistic to have fried turkey during a Whole 30? I'd prefer not to put it in an oven, but if that's my only recourse...... Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 6, 2013 You are right that peanut oil is out. The problem is that healthy cooking fats like ghee, beef tallow, or coconut oil would be way too expensive to use for frying a turkey.

SarrizleP
Just curious, why don't you want to put it in the oven? Oven roasted turkey is delicious!
praxisproject
If you're pan frying (not deep frying) with the bird in pieces, you'd be able to use something like ghee.
