RGEDDS
So I'm feeling pretty good today with staying on point with my meal plans. I did break down a little and had a half a cup of blueberries. I know it's ok but I tend to be a fruit junkie so I'm really trying to limit myself.....how much fruit is really too much though? Can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone on this. I also came down with a cold. Is it ok to take something to get through the day with this cold? RGE DDS
goddesslynne
Well, here's what I understand from reading here for a while. If fruit and sweets are your dragon, you need to limit or eliminate them. For people without the sweet tooth, 1 to 2 a day, incorporated into meals, seems to be what works best. kb0426
For your cold - bone broth, bone broth, bone broth! If you don't have any, find a compliant chicken broth and drink up buttercup!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 7, 2013 I'm not aware of anything being genuinely useful to take for a cold. I would say drinks lots of herbal tea and rest as much as possible.
RGEDDS
I'm just looking for something to deal with the runny nose and sinus pressure....no remedy. Can I take something like Advil cold and flu, benadryl or will that be interfering with the Whole 30 regimen?
RGEDDS
@Goddesslynne I have only eaten 2 pieces of fruit over the last 4 days. For me that is mighty impressive!!!!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 7, 2013 Yeah, you can take over-the-counter drugs like those, just stay away from cough drops and lozenges.
Susan W
Make sure to take the pill forms of those because the liquids have alcohol and sweeteners in them.
