Samantha Ribeiro
So in the coconut milk powder, under ingredients there is only 100% coconut milk powder. Then under the nutritional chart, it says, gluten free and under it, it says: contains traces of caseinate. Whats the rule for when it´s not on the ingredients? When it says it constains traces of something?
Jihanna
Sodium caseinate is a milk-derivative that's added (in low percentages) to improve the consistency and flavor of coconut milk powders, giving them a more creamy/milky texture. Because it's derived from milk, there are allergic properties. I would personally avoid it because it's declared on the packaging, whether it's in the ingredients or not, but a mod would have a better idea of what the official stance would be. ArtFossil
I agree with @Jihanna and I would avoid it, especially as dairy can be so disruptive. The easy choice would be simply to not use coconut milk powders and use canned coconut milk instead. There are many compliant brands. You can save the coconut powder for after your Whole30.
