Tom F.
I've read about dextrose as an additive to salt. I know it's OK. But I have not found any other info on dextrose as an additive to other foods. Is dextrose OK in meats etc.?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 15, 2020 Moderators Share Posted January 15, 2020 Just now, Tom F. said: I've read about dextrose as an additive to salt. I know it's OK. No sorry, dextrose is only given a pass for table salt as it is part of a chemical reaction needed to keep the iodine functional. There is not enough dextrose in salt to impact your program. Dextrose in meats, brines, marinades etc would not be compliant; salt is the ONLY exception to the no sugar rule.
