kathrynwxyz
Hey all! I'm pretty new to Whole30, and last night I was hungry before bed (and, honestly, it being day 2 I was worried about intense sugar cravings!). I did some googling and came across "Golden Milk Tea" (or tea latte). There are a lot of variations out there on how to make this, but the consistent factors seem to be: almond or coconut milk, herbal tea, tumeric, and cinnamon. The spices were great - tumeric is a must IMO. Here's my very rough recipe - adapt to fit your tea cache and spice cabinet. Golden Milk Tea Latte Serves 2 - 1 can lite coconut milk (could probably use regular, but this is what I had on hand) - 1 chamomile teabag - 1 dandelion root teabag (anything else with a subtle sweetness would work) - Spices: cinnamon, tumeric, cardamom, cloves (Could probably use ginger, orange zest too) Bring the milk to a simmer, add your teabags and spices, then cover, turn off the heat, and let it sit while you change into PJs. Then strain, pour, and enjoy!
