Jeggloo
Hi everyone, I recently purchased NESCAFÉ GOLD Espresso Instant Coffee and there was no ingredients label on it. So I went on their website and it mentions 'with crema'. I know diary is not whole30 compliant but I am seriously confused as to how there is crema in an instant coffee powder...so I'm guessing I shouldn't use this instant coffee or is it okay? Thanks in advance for your help
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 9, 2020 Moderators Share Posted June 9, 2020 Google crema in espresso for a better explanation than I can manage, but it isn't cream, it's the foam that forms on espresso that is the result of air bubbles or co2 or something. It isn't dairy at all, so this is ok to have.
SchrodingersCat
Yup, crema is the lovely white layer you get at the top of a decent espresso coffee. It's kind of like the head on a beer, if that makes sense. Nothing added.
