hciha130
Anyone have an egg allergy and do the program with success? If so, would love ideas for protein options at breakfast and others. I really depended on my eggs for so many things and am struggling to think about committing to this plan without them. Appreciate any ideas. Michaela Elmore Cogswell
oh no, egg allergy sounds no fun at all. Pretty much any protien makes a good breakfast. A number of people have mentioned making an extra serving at dinner and then heating that up for breakfast. It's kinda a strange concept to think of eating chicken or beef at breakfast but it is easier to adjust than you might think. We've been doing steak and eggs on a bed of wilted spinich the last few mornings so maybe start with steak hold the eggs to get you into the routine. srahsrah
I have an egg allergy and am a former vegetarian, so am really struggling with eating meat 3(+) times/day. Luckily I've never been stuck on the traditional idea of breakfast. This morning breakfast was a chicken stew. Many days it is turkey sausage and veggies. It would be so nice to be able to carry hard boiled eggs around with me for snacks, but that just isn't going to happen so I'm working around it. It will definitely help if you can let go of the idea of "breakfast foods" and be ok eating dinner leftovers for breakfast! I'd love to hear any breakfast ideas you have! kitmao
I'm confused - wouldn't you have to remove eggs from your diet regardless of doing a Whole30 since you're allergic? I don't understand how that changes things. I eat leftover dinner a lot for breakfast. Also, I make homemade sausage patties out of pastured ground pork (per a spice recipe in Well Fed) with spinach and onion cooked in the grease. There are tons of paleo recipes out there that don't require eggs. Or, you can simply make a cut of meat and some veggies. You can eat that for breakfast just as well as any other meal. Gilraen
Me too! Try easy options like smoked salmon or sliced turkey with tons of salad, sprinkled with dried cranberries/apple cubes (poultry's strong taste can be soften with avocado, which adds a good and valuable source of fats). Be very careful with sausages, even the organic sliced turkey may contain sugar, potato starch, etc
mochuisle
I have an egg sensitivity and have done three full W30s without eggs. You need to get creative and plan ahead of time for breakfast Here is my log for this W30 and if you search the forums, you should be able to find my previous logs: http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/5220-egg-free-3/ Good luck!!
