Nancy H.
I have never heard of them. What are they?
ladyhoward
What are the ingredients? If you can't have that one, there is a Louisiana brand that is compliant I believe.
Cindy
Its a type of hot sauce. I put it on eggs and actually have been using as a salad dressing during Whole30.
ladyhoward
If you tell us the ingredients, we can confirm if it's compliant or not.

Renee Lee
Double check the variety you're using. The basic one's compliant. The hot wing sauce, and some of the others have sugar added. and are NOT
Della Nova
Yeah it depends on which kind you're using and the ingredients. I used to have an "extra-thick" mild Franks Hot Sauce but I chucked it before the Whole30 because it had High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. This is the kind with HFCS: http://www.franksredhot.com/products/thick-cayenne-pepper-sauce I checked the "Original" kind and it doesn't have the HFCS in it. I'm glad you asked this, because I really enjoy their flavor and I'm glad to be able to add it back!
Bridget
I put it on everything !

Renee Lee
In theory, yes...but just double check the ingredients. Folks hide sugar in everything!
Kirsteen
Folks hide sugar in everything! I just discovered in in cat food. Now I know the cat's not doing a W30 but who on earth would think of giving a cat sugar?
Renee Lee
interesting fact: they can't taste it. I just discovered in in cat food. Now I know the cat's not doing a W30 but who on earth would think of giving a cat sugar?

Kirsteen
yep! http://www.scientifi...ot-taste-sweets You know the more I think about this, the angrier I'm getting. I mean the cat can't taste sugar. As the article says they may not be able to digest it properly, it may be causing them diabetes, yet the manufacturers stick sugar in the cat food!!! Can anyone see the sense here? Am I going to have to start reading the catfood labels as well as my own?
boandlindsay
I'm not a Franks person, but a Tabasco. I'm very happy that traditional Tabasco, as well as the Buffalo style are both compliant! W30 on!
jodea
I just assumed Tabasco was non-compliant! This makes me happy!

Lora Friedenthal
Oh man, I didn't know the wing sauce wasn't okay. It's the canola oil and preservatives, I guess? Good thing I ran out before Jan or I'd have had it on some wings by now.
Kim Christensen
Woohoo! For some reason I assumed the mainstream hot sauces would have sugar. SO glad to see that's not the case. Picking some up today.
praxisproject
Some do, just check the label, I was so excited when I saw that Franks was okay, I didn't even check it, I assumed it was bad
bonnynancy
I just discovered in in cat food. Now I know the cat's not doing a W30 but who on earth would think of giving a cat sugar? No joke, Kirsteen. My ex used to feed sugary stuff to our wonderful old dog, and he gave the poor boy diabetes. Can you imagine giving twice-daily insulin shots to your pet? Been there, and I would advise switching to a different food. (Not that you asked for advice, but we pet lovers need to look out for each other.) Hmm. I'm going to go check the cat's food right now......
