HelloKirst
Hi everybody, Today is day 9 of my Whole30 and things are going SO well. I am seeing vast improvements in my mood, my binge eating issues, my sleeping (oh my goodness, it's amazing!) and just everything overall feels awesome. Over the last couple of days, I have been abnormally hungry and genuinely hungry (steamed fish and veggies sound delicious!) Weight loss is definitely a goal, but a lifestyle change is a bigger goal (I know if I keep eating this well and without binging, the weight loss will come). I am following the guidelines - except I am typically eating more fat than the one to two thumb sizes (I love it and I'm not scared of it). So, my question is this...should I experiment with adding more protein or more vegetables or even more fat? What should I try first? Typical Day (this was keeping me full last week...this week, not so much): B: 2 eggs scrambled in ghee or beef tallow + kale + broccoli + half of an avocado L: Sweet potato soup with ground buffalo + half of an avocado D: Chicken curry + kale + carrot + broccoli + onion (I usually use an entire can of coconut milk and eat about half) I do exercise - nothing overly extreme. I jog between 30 minutes - 60 minutes (3-4 times per week), I try to go to yoga twice per week (doesn't always happen) and I am just starting crossfit again (an injury had me sidelined for awhile, I'd like to work up to going to crossfit 3 times per week). So, I'm definitely not unactive despite sitting at a desk everyday. I'm open to adding more food to my day because I don't want to snack on nuts and larabars and dried fruit like I have been and I don't want to be hungry 2 hours after I eat...so help
Susan W
Two eggs isn't much protein. A good portion would be as many as you can hold in one hand. Your fat portions look good so if I were you, I would try to increase your protein first. Also, do you ever have other fats such as homemade mayo or coconut oil? Just curious because I seem to do better when I vary my fats, proteins and veggies. I am 5'7, medium build, about 128 lbs..I eat 2-3 cups of veggies with each meal, about the same amount of fat as you do, 3 eggs for my first meal and over a palm sized protein when I have beef, chicken, pork or seafood. I am 59 yo so it isn't like I have the metabolism of a kid.
HelloKirst
Thanks, Susan. Yes, I vary my fats. I cook with coconut oil often, I make homemade mayo, cook in duck fat, I use olive oil on raw veggies, etc. I was thinking protein would be what I would increase - but I wasn't sure if I should try veggies first. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I'd try protein first. Could be you need more starchy veggies too. You'll find your sweet spot.
