K. R.
Wondering about Wegmans organic balsamic vinegar from their Italian classics line. The ingredients are “organic wine vinegar, organic concentrated grape must, organic cooked grape must”... but then it lists sugars as total 5 grams, “includes 2 g added sugars” were these sugars added in making grape must? I don’t understand why sugar isn’t in the ingredient list. & I had independently researched the ingredients & read that both wine vinegar & grape must were compliant. Can I have this balsamic vinegar? thank you!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 26, 2021 Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2021 This is fine. You can read how the FDA defines added sugar here: https://www.fda.gov/food/new-nutrition-facts-label/added-sugars-new-nutrition-facts-label. Whole30 rules are that it really only matters what is actually listed on the ingredients list.
kevipai
These vinegars are produced using wine vinegar and frequently have caramel shading, thickeners, and flavor added. Business grade balsamic vinegar may be marked essentially as "Balsamic Vinegar of Modena" on the off chance that they are, truth be told, created in that area. In the event that you drink crude balsamic vinegar, your throat may become kindled and your throat could be harmed. There are occurrences where drinking vinegar can cause stomach torment or hurt the covering of your stomach.
