Hello!

I am on day 10 now and feeling fantastic!

Its easy to go shopping because there are so many things I cannot have so less decisions to be made, I eat big platefuls of really yummy food, I don't get hungry again for ages, my breastmilk supply has not altered as far as I am aware, my "mummy brain" has gone, no afternoon lull, really happy and cheery all the time, better skin, and my jeans are much looser. This is fab.

Normally when I drop my 3 year old at nursery school for the afternoon I come home desperate for a rest and hoping my 7 month old will nap. Today I put baby in the carrier and walked up to the supermarket (only half a mile or less) to get some bits and pieces and I really enjoyed the exercise.

This way of eating is so helpful when you have young kids and don't get much chance to sit still! Oh and I will probably lose weight but actually I'm not bothered about that now.

Loving it :D

Grain brain - what a wonderful phrase for brain fog, I'm going to unashamedly steal it :) Glad you're doing so good. We were at the supermarket this morning and it's so liberating to realise that there's so little of it you need to round. I found myself thinking, I only need the aisles that've got food in them and that's 3 fresh veg and 2 meat and fish.......and that's it. No more impulse buying, no more buying stuff that gets thrown out or worse only gets eaten to prevent that. No more buying stuff that never tastes as good as the adverts. Just real food for my body and spirit :)

I LOVE this statement!

I actually went to the grocery store with my not-Whole30 but Wheat Belly friend yesterday and her 19 year old daughter. The daughter just looked at us like we were crazy saying all the typical "I'm just going to actually ENJOY life and eat what I want." Meanwhile, my friend and I were having a great time checking out produce and plotting our pecan crusted pork chop dinner! I am definitely enjoying life this week more than I was last week with "grain-brain"!

  • 2 weeks later...

How is everyone feeling now?

Thought I would mention that I had some grapefruit yesterday and was amazed at how sweet it tasted, without the odd taste you get from them. Then I realised it must be my taste buds/palate that has changed. The grapefruit tasted soooo nice!

Funny little discovery hehe

Yeah, even coconut milk is getting to be really sweet now! And sweet potatoes!

I remember awhile back at like Thanksgiving or something my mom was talking about how "sweet" potatoes aren't really sweet unless you put sugar on them. I was like "are you kidding!? I think they taste like candy!" I actually only eat sweet potatoes in small doses now because I don't like how sweet they are.

Me too! Weird. I made Sweet Potato Basil soup last night and felt like I needed to add something more to cut down on all the sweetness.
