Ashley Hobar
Does anybody know if nutritional yeast is allowed on whole30? I found a recipe for a fake "parmesan cheese". And it contains chopped up walnuts, nutritional yeast, and some spices. Thanks!
Kim Christensen
It is but I wouldn't make fake Parmesan cheese with it Used as a spice it's great. Using it to create a fake Whole30 version of a food, is the kind of thing strongly discouraged as we are trying to break habits of eating those kinds of foods. Kirsteen
Besides, Ashley, it's honestly not worth it. I tried several recipies like that in pre Whole 30 days when I was a vegan. None of them tasted remotely like parmesan
cpb
I have to admit - I do like it on my kale chips
Kim Christensen
I put it on my kale chips too! NY is great as a spice/flavoring but stay away from using it to replace cheese.

Delaine Ross
Nutritional yeast on kale chips is fine as an added spice (as Kim said,) but when you are trekking into "fake-anything world" you're probably getting into the SWYPO territory.
