Planning to start my second Whole30 on July 1st

Recommended Posts

I did my first Whole30 back in January and it seemed almost effortless. I felt wonderful, I had energy, I lost weight, I was sleeping well. I stayed pretty faithful to the program into about mid-February (nearly a whole-45), and then life got in the way in the form of a family member's extended hospitalization, which had us grabbing meals on the run almost every day of the week. After that, I had a nasty hamstring strain that de-railed my physical activities for a month, which hurt because I'm one of those people for whom one good habit feeds another, and vice-versa--if I fall off one wagon, I'm much more likely to fall off another. Add to that some super-busy periods at work that started cutting into my sleep time, and let's just say I've erased every single benefit that I gained in that first Whole30.

I've been realizing that I'm slowly killing myself--honestly, I feel awful, and I know it shows. I am going to do a second Whole30, but I'm taking the next few weeks to ease myself back into it with a gradual phase-out of all the garbage that's re-entered my diet over the last 3.5 months, and a phase-back-in of weekly meal planning & preparation to get me through my busy weeks. I'll also spend some time reading through the forums (and my copy of ISWF, as soon as I get it!) to help get my head back in the right place. I'm planning to start on July 1st and I am really looking forward to it.

Can't wait to get to know you all better--thanks!

Hi Tara! I'm also starting a W30 on July 1. I did a W30 in January also, and another in April. I was doing well until I went on vacation a few weeks ago, and I've just never quite gotten my groove back. I look forward to checking in on you!

Oh, and I can't wait until my ISWF comes! :)
