MrsStick
I make my own (Refrigerator) Pickles. The recipe calls for 1/4 cup of sugar, but if I leave it out could I have these? My main concern is whether the vinegar would be bad. I really just love pickles, and even more, I love knowing that the ingredients are clean (minus the sugar, anyway). http://thenotsoskinnybaker.wordpress.com/2011/07/29/refrigerator-pickles/ That's the recipe. If it's not allowed, or even if it is, does anyone have any other recipes for pickles that might fill the gap better than just taking out the sugar (these can have a bit of a kick because of the garlic)? Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 16, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 16, 2013 You can use apple juice in place of sugar. Here is my recipe... http://www.wholelife...decent-pickles/ And I am moving this topic to cooking as I think it fits better there.
